No dial tone...

I was at a friends house one building a PC and we wanted to check something on the internet so I took my handheld PC and told him to connect the phone line to the phone jack on my handheld.

Then I try to connect and it keeps saying to dial tone! I looked at the wire and he had connected the receiver (the part you hold in your hand and talk in) to my modem!

I think it's a sign from God telling you to NOT build a computer for this guy! Don't ignore the signs, or you will suffer! :D

Maybe he thought that your handheld could be used as a cellphone, and that you need the handset to be able to talk so you could be able to gain access to the web. :) :) you never know..
