Gentleman called our office to complain his scaner doesn't work with his new laptop.
when I asked him what kind of scaner it turned out to be a scsi scanner when asked if the box had a apropriate card in it the customer replied yes. I said that the scanner would work fine with the pc that he purchased at the same time as the scanner if the apropriate card was installed into his pc . To this the gentleman went beserk saying this was all our fault and that we had sold him the wrong thing and that he wanted his money back . I asked if at the time of purchas had he been asked if the scanner was for the pc he was buying to this he replied yes having exsplained that the scanner would work with his pc and therefore he had not be sold the wrong thing the customer said this still was not good enough and he wanted his monney back .To this I asked for his invoice number and found out he had purchased it 12/6/96 over two years previous at this point I said good by sir .

Had a similar thing happen, lady purchased a typing tutor, the cost of the item $20. When the item came in the box was crushed and looking warn. Upon opening and testing the software and displaying it working, she exclaimed it wouldn't work on her PC. As it was DOS based software and quite beyond the customers comprehension level of put it in and play, we said we would be happy to configure her system to allow her computer to play DOS software and create a shortcut for her. She then for no other reason started to get irate, demanding her money back, saying she shouldn't have to bring her computer in for us to install her software for her, which we were prepared to do at no charge. It was at this point I looked at the receipt, dated 18 months ago, once again a similar reply of have a nice day was extended. My suggestion and what I follow now, "When did you purchase the product?"
