I had a friend at school who one day asked if my credit card reader on my computer was working correctly... Rather confused that one existed my reply was "I don't have one." He told me that everybody had one and then discribed what sounded like a 3.5" floppy drive. As it turned out, he was inserting his credit card into the a: thinking it was a credit card reader for use over the Internet.

Actually, they do have readers for computers. It works in the same way that older NCR Cash Registers would allow a store to swipe the credit card.

Good thing you clarified that, Q. I was thinking for a second that they'd only work on Packard Bells, Compaqs and E-Machines. :D

American Express Blue has a credit card reader that you can purchase. For a quite while they were giving them away free. Mine is sitting on my PC still in the box waiting for the day I get someone calling me for this type of problem. In this field, you have to be ready for anything!!

Just to make sure you know what he's talking about, you should've asked him if the credit card reader is located above or below the coffee cup holder with the built-in headphone jack and volume knob.

No, Send your card to me. It does work on my computer. I need a battery charger and rechargeable battery for this battery life sucking digital camera I own.

To actually win the Darwin Award I beleive the contestant must DIE, which of course would prevent breeding. :D

I think these are for people that steal credit cards. Did you know that the PIN to your ATM card is encoded in the magnetic stripe on the back. Just a thought.

<< Any stealing of ATM cards and decoding the strip is not suggested and I cannot be held responsible for your actions >>

Me: OK insert the disk in the A drive.

User: a drive? where is that.

Me: The Floppy disk drive.

User: Isnt the hard drive "a drive" too?

Me: Yes...but the drive where you put floppy's is called the "A" drive.

USer: <laffing> oh...I suppose there is a "B" drive too.

Me: Yes there is on some PC's.

HEY! Mine works great! Everyone list your credit card #'s and I'll test 'em for you. Include the expiration date as well in the posts!

Glad I found out what that was, I always heard it was a floppy drive, but those disks that are susposed to go in them are not floppy, you can't hardly bend them without breaking.......

(somewhere, someone, would believe this above statement... geesh)
