Had a client that contacted me about an employee that he suspected of not doing any work all day and spending all their time playing solitare or doing outside work.
The employer was concerned that if he let her go without something to back it up, she would try to sue. . .
We talked about possible solutions, either hardware or software but because of the situation it had to be something simple that he could monitor, being a low tech person himself.

The solution?
We put a small scan converter on the back of the computer, where she would never notice it or know what it was, and ran a cable to a VCR hidden in a nearby room. Pop in an 8 hour video tape and Bingo. We got about 6 hours of video games and 2 hours of boyfriends resume.

The funniest part was when the card game would suddenly minimize and a word document would come up quickly. . . then a pause and back to playing cards because whomever had apparantly walked on by.

Ooh scan converters are fun. I also like using the QuickCam USB that people don't realize is plugged in...

With scan converters and golfbal cameras who needs James Bond?
