I must come from a "special" area.

My favorite stories.

First, we had a regular customer who did medical transcripting. She had loads of important stuff. She STORED her years worth of documents in the RECYCLE BIN. You know what happened.

Second, A customer brought in a PC because the new hard drive they installed didn't work. I booted it up. Really bad, bad smell. Took the case off. Turned it on one more time. FIRE!!!! The customer had ground the hard drive with copper wire.

Third, A gentlemen came into the store and said he was in town trying to help his parents out with their computer. The man is dressed nicely, and has already helped himself to one of our display models and was clicking around. He said his parents couldn't type anything but one long sentence. I told him the word wrap must be off. He said "Word Wrap?" I then said try hitting enter at the end of a sentence. He said "Enter" I feared for my sanity. The man was totally oblivious to technology. I guess he has never used a typewriter.

My favorite is still calling Packard Bell tech support (only at the demand of my boss) and having the Packard Bell technician walk me step by step through setting fire to the mobo. When he heard what had happened he hung up and could never get a response from Packard Bell.
