[RESOLVED] Iomega JAZ 1Gb Drive Problems

Does anyone know of problems arising from this drive. ie Overheating, Trashing disks, misreading size of disk.

While trying to read the disk the unit spins up OK but the Disk comes out very hot and the unit is very hot as well externally especially underneath.

I have seen this with the ZIP drives in that the disk is hot and/or the drive clicks twice and refuses to recognise the disk. I have always sent these drives back to the supplier who has changed them for me.

Yeah I have had problems with these. They had a recall on 40,000 disks in 1999.
