locking the domain name

does any one know how to set the domain on the network login so it can not be changed?
i have trouble with users (high school kids) deleting or outright changing the domain name so the computers can't log in.
i have looked for utilities to do this but i have found none. i use system policies so maybe someone has a custom policy template that will do this. or knows if there is a reg key that will "gray out" the box so it can't be changed.

Does each user have there own login name, or do you use a generic login name/pass for everybody?

You can use system policies to lock the desktop items, control panels, screen saver. My memory is a little fuzzy on what else you can do with policies. I do remember trying to do the same things that your students are doing when I was in college, but they were running Novell at the college.

i concur with 3FS...if they use generic logins..you could just install the MS family login....TweakUI is another really good way of automating certain processes

NT or 98? sounds like 98. and the quickest way to make your request happen is to require domain authentication to logon. if your going to start with system policies you might as well lock the little bastards out of everything.

i may not have described the problem corectly in my first post.

i do have the machine locked down tight with system policies and they can't use the computer without logging on to the network, the problem i have is they change the name of the domain (ie: if the domain name was school they might delete a letter out of the name an say change it to shool) so then the computer can't log on to the network. the teacher then assumes the computer is "broken" and i get a tech request to fix it. what i want to do is make it so that the domain name can be "grayed out" or locked so that the domain name can't be altered.
