I have a silly question.

Does the IBM PS2 use a standard mouse and keyboard?

I have an IBM PS2 - model 25.

It boots up, but I do not have the original keyboard.

PS/2 standard works with every PS/2 keyboard and mouse. I've used a common PS/2 keyboard and mouse on an IBM machine and worked perfectly.

well I hooked a keyboard to it and all i get is a keyboard error press F1 to continue..

I have never worked on anything this old before, but I assume that means there is a problem with the motherboard, and I can't do anything about it?

I have a PS/2-Model 80, if you go to IBM's website and identify your specific system with the support pages, you can download a boot/configuration disk that will correct errors in the BIOS. At least that's the way it works with my Model 80 (386/16MHz 10-ton tower).

I might have to try that.
