I have purchased an Iomega cd copier with usb connection unfortunately I cannot get it to work. I allready have an Iomega usb zip drive which works fine. It states in the iomega box that certain motherboards may not be suitable. My pc is fitted with a pentium BX Microstar by MSI any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

can i say frankly that stinks and is the biggest cop out i've heard for a while!

Pentium® 166 or higher with built-in USB controller (some USB controllers or motherboards may not support all types of USB devices)
Microsoft® Windows® 98 / 98 SE / 2000 / Me
Must meet recommended RAM requirements for your operating system (See your OS manual for details)
CD-ROM drive or 740MB hard drive space to copy CDs
CD-ROM drive (for software installation)
Sound Blaster®-compatible sound card for audio playback
Hard drive space for Adaptec® software (32MB), Iomega Quik Sync 2 software 30-day trial version (8MB), MusicMatch® Jukebox™ Plus (30MB), and Adobe® ActiveShare™ (40MB)
Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 4.0 or higher required for Adaptec® software

"some USB controllers or motherboards may not support all types of USB devices" is like saying some cars may not drive on all roads... which ones? Why not?

USB is fairly standard across mobos.. thats the whole point of it.

this is their help page for cdrw: http://www.iomega.com/support/cdupred.html

there is a firmware update/software: http://www.iomega.com/datahandler/servlet/dataprocess/driverlist?database=steerdown

this is w98, so if yours is not you may have to reselect.

Personally, i would dump it and get some other make! thats just my opinion!
