Who made my cd/dvd?

I just got a CD/DVD ROM drive from Compaq in the mail. They sent no infomation or drivers. I spent 5 hours on the phone w/them w/o help. They cant tell me who made it. I think the product # is GD-2500. Any ideas who the maker is & where I can get the drivers? Please help!!!

Hi.

If it is a GD2500, it is a Hitachi. What do you need the drivers for? The drive will work as a DVD ROM with the drivers that are included in W98 (if you have an MPEG Board or an MPEG capable video card and appropriate software), and it will work as a CD ROM with those included with NT.

What OS are you using?
