Creative cd4834e hangs

Hello,
my cd rom creative 4834e hangs randomly when i try to read cdrom's. I tried to change several settings (master/slave pio/dma mode) but nothing works.

Someone cna help me?

Your message did not state what your OS is or what you program you are trying to run when it hangs.... What are your sys specs. (ram, processor, Free hard drive space) with out this data it would be very hard to help you.
