I have a packard bell 100 mg that I just formated. I then replaced the old CD-ROM with a IDE CD-ROM and a 16 bit sound card. I can not get the CD to read. I also can not get the drivers for the CD to load. I also need if anyone has a 43FX chip set Alias Devise drivers for this computer. I would greatly appreciate it.I hope someone can help. Thanks

Hello,

Make sure that you connected the IDE cable to the motherboard's IDE port and not the sound card integrated IDE port. Also make sure that the cable is not connected backwards and the power cable is firmly attached to the cd rom's power connection. If the IDE cable is connected to the sound card, install the sound card drivers under dos and then proceed with the cd-rom drivers.

I hope this helps.
