I signed up for the WinXP beta, but I've never gotten any notice that I could download it. Did I jump on too late, or has anybody been able to do this? It said it would be available in June, but that has come and gone. Of couse, MicroShaft doesn't give any diffinitive info on this, so I leave it to the peeps.

I have been running a copy of Beta 2 for about a month. So far under our conditions it has performed much better than expected. It is driving our LAN and also our Starband Internet satellite system. The only crashes have been User generated through stupidity. There are others who disagree with me but that is what Beta testing is all about. So far I like it but it will not be for everybody.

And the copy being made available for download ($9.95) is not a BETA but a RELEASE CANDIDATE (not much difference )

according to a e-mail i recieved from microsoft:
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Release Candidate 1 is now available!
If you ordered the download of the Windows XP Professional Release Candidate 1 (RC1), you will be receiving an e-mail with download instructions and product key in the next few days. The download will take about five hours on a DSL or other high-speed connection.
If you ordered the mail kit of Windows XP Professional RC1, you will receive the kit by mid-July. If you ordered only the mail kit, you are entitled to the mail kit only, and not the download of RC1.

Your credit cards are charged only after the mail kit is shipped to you or after you have successfully downloaded the software.

If you have not yet placed your order, please go to http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/preview/order.asp and register for the program.
