New HSF replacement.

I had to replace my CoolerMaster DP2 5H54 (dual fans) last night. One of the fans died (I was unable to save). I had bought a Thermaltake Slot A Golden Orb from a local shop on clearance for $7.99 a couple of months ago, but because of the mixed reviews I was hesitant to use it. But being now in a fix I decided to give it a try. I mounted it on my processor (using Arctic Silver and making sure the fit was proper) and started the PC up. I am surprised :) I'm running about about 20°C cooler. I'm right now running at 38°C (100°F). I had been running about 60°C (138°-142°F). After rereading some of the reviews this is pretty much in line. So for $7.99+tax I don't feel too bad! :D

I'm Running Asus Probe and everything Is out of threshold and it been like this for months.
Does anyone know how to run this lame Program.
I can't even find out the Temp of my CPU

I'm with ya DANIMAL! I have it on an ASUS K7V mobo and found that the temps are about 25-30% too high :( ! It does seem to monitor the fans well, that's how I found out about the dead fan. I followed all of the instructions when I connected the probe and installed the software. I used a temperature probe from a groundwater monitoring device to give me an accurate result.

AMDs run hotter the Intel cpus, so case fans are a must for GHz computers. For those who still have the Voodoo5 cards, case ventillation is even more important.

I usually try to keep a system running under 100F, cooler is better.
