DocPC recently asked me to create a case mod on an ATX case that wanted, so this thread will be a "work in progress" of the case mod I am currently working on. These pictures are the new case thats about to be transformed.....
More pictures coming soon as I work on it!! (I'll also make the pics smaller)

Ok, here is the second installment of pics, the case is coming along nicely, I have hit one roadblock, and that is the colors on the front of the case. I have a color scheme already painted, but I have another in mind. I won't be able to decide which way to paint it until the entire case has been painted up, but util then enjoy these pics!! http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/cwmsmilies/cwm4.gif http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/cwmsmilies/cwm4.gif
I should ahve the entire case painted and have a top coat applied....so its getting close!

Are you just using a Dremel to cut the case? Do you have any templates for cuts like fan holes?

I don't use a dremel tool, I actualy use a sabre saw to cut out the large holes, and I have a round steel toothed cutting tool for the fan holes, thats how they came out perfectly round.

That's one sweet mod for a plain-jane case.
How many drive bays does it have, internal..and how many cooling fans does it support?

Thanks for the comments...this case has really grown on me and I'm not sure if I can give this one up! http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/cwmsmilies/cwm4.gif (Just kidding Doc!! http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/cwmsmilies/cwm4.gif http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/cwmsmilies/cwm4.gif )
This particular case has 3 80mm fans installed into it, and it moves some air! This case has 3 5 1/4" drives, 2 3 1/2" drives, and 3 slots for harddrives, the inside is fairly roomy. I'm selling this one to DocPC for $250, which is an incredible
deal for this case.
that case looks cool, i want onem, but cant afford it.

I used ordinary spray paint, a good brand, no cheapies stuff. But before I sprayed, I sanded, primed and them painted the case. It also depends on the look you want. If you want a semi-rough look like a stock case, then do less sanding, if you want a nice smooth look, sand with a very fine paper. (220 Grit) Most of all, be patient, you may have to spray a couple of coats, and let each coat dry completely. Good Luck! http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/cwmsmilies/cwm12.gif

Yes, I agree..that's some bad *** looks and good cooling for a generic steel case. And the gold looks great http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/cwmsmilies/cwm35.gif

You learn alot when modding your first case, how to spray, what to sand, what paper to sand with, # of coats, etc. Like I said too, take your time, it took me a week+ to fully paint the red case, and I should have taken a little longer. (see still learning) http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/cwmsmilies/cwm4.gif

I can tell that you've never read the Jeff K column at SomethingAwful.com and that you've never been to [H]ardOCP Forums, which is where I live http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/smile.gif
It is "l33tspeak", it's kind of stupid but it grows on you. Have you ever heard "i 0wn j00" which is "I own you" which means "I am better than you"? Well 0wnage is a variation of 0wn, and it means "that case 0wns" or "that case is great".
The "teh" is straight from "Ask Jeff K" on SomethingAwful.com, as you may know Jeff K always misspells words, such as "yuo", "teh", or "faget", so it's also from that.. http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/smile.gif
Anyway..I probably won't be able to ship it out and everything..as I won't have a computer for the time being http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/frown.gif
But maybe you can tell me some good websites where I can learn how to do case mods and stuff? http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/smile.gif
Thanks..=)

You bet!! It would be great for others to see the case on the showroom floor. Especially after a system is installed in the case, it will look really sweet! If you want DocPC, I'll post the pics you have taken at your shop! Thanks!!
OK ladies and gents............I have the case in question. It ROCKS!!! I will be putting an Athlon XP 1800+ and various "gamer" stuff in it as I can. (Doug does not come cheap. :) ) It will be a week or two as my schedule allows.
I want neon, any suggestions?

Most definately cold cathode if you don't mind
shelling out the $40. They are super bright and not hot. I just put a purple one in my case and it's pretty kick @$$. Definately worth the money if you're on this side of the tracks.

Since the inside is gold, and the outside is red, I would think about either the yellow or the red cold cathode kits found at pcmods.com....anybody else with suggestions?
