I've got a system that is loaded to the gills and I was wondering what size Power Supply would be sufficient. It is a Duron 800 overclocked to 1 GHZ @ 2.00 V. I just ordered a ide raid controller and will have 4 small hard drives. I have 2 cdrom drives, and about 7 adapter cards installed. I should probably make 2 machines out of this but I really don't have room (or my wife doesn't think I need 2 computers) :-)I don't know if case fans use up allot of power, but right now I have 4 including the HSF and video card fans. I have a 300 watt now, but am ready to order either a 350 or 400 Enermax. Do you think the 350 will be enough?

As long as it is not a no name brand you should be fine as it is.

with all those devices, 400w would be the way to go.

I'd say give a try 'as is' then if it gives you problems upgrade it. A 300w should handle it just fine though.

Power supplies are so overrated these days...

Power supplies are "so overrated" because they are critical to a power hungry Thunderbird rig. A cheapo 250w supply will not generate enough power to run a 1g tbird with all the fixings on a consistant basis. This being said, I would otherwise agree with Mahdi: try it as is. If it works fine, it is probably fine.

Be real and buy a 400 watt supply,Why chance a failure.

That system needs up to 250 watts to run maby more.Based on that alone I would upgrade my power supply.

I decided to go ahead and order the Enermax 350 watt. The 300 watt I have right now is an uncertified Hivision that came in the case I bought. Thanks again for the advice.
