HEllo,
I am about to buy a new computer with the following hardware, plz see and tell me what you think?
AMD Athlon 1.4GHZ
Asus A7M/266 DDR
Hyandai 256 DDR RAM
Sony 17'' Flat Trinitron Tube 0.25dpi
Seagate 30.1gb
64mb geforce 2, to-out v/c
And the other stuff... like dvd-rom+cd-rw+floppy etc......
Is that combination of hardware good?
What can be improved? Is that enough to run just about any game?
And is that configuration stable? Does 1.4ghz Athlon crash a lot?
Give me Opinions as i will be buying computer in next week!

I think it should be just fine although if I were you I would consider a GeForce 3 graphics card, since you want to play games.
Just my 2 cents..

GeForce 2 will be plenty fast enough for almost anything.
I'd go for a ABIT KT7A-RAID, as a matter of personal preference, and an IBM drive - can't beat 'em - last 4ever.

Thats great for anything out on the market right now, I would wait for the upgrade to the Geforce 3 as they can run as much as $500 usd

Looks good.
Geforce 2 is ok for now especially with 64mb ddr.
Don't know about the board though.
There were problems with them in the past few months.

hello... i have two questions:
1) What bearing does a difference of cpu speed have?
Is 1.3ghz Thunderbird basically the same as a 1.4ghz Thunderbird? Is there a lot of difference or what?
2)What sort of problems are there with
Asus A7M/266 DDR Motherboard??????
What is a top of the range good, low problem motherboard?

i don't think you'd see much of a difference between the 1.3 and the 1.4, but then the price between the two isn't all that much. those are two pretty big horses. and what geforce 2 crads can you choose from?

How about throwin' in a RAID configuration? Or at least 2 HDD to boost your performance.
