I nave an IBM aptiva model 2153-E3U.
AMD k6-2 350Mhz. On a ALI mother board model number M1542/M1543.With an accer bios from IBM V70ENB4B the ltest upgrade from IBM for this model. IBM is slow at releasing upgrades.
I am trying to overclock it to 400-450Mhz.
I increased the multiplier to 4x 100 to get 400 Mhz. The computer went through post, thenthe IBM splash screen, at this point I went into setup and verified that it was at 400 Mhz, it was. I got out of setup and it continued to the windows 98 splash screen and the started to go to the desk top. I got an error message that siad that my clock speed did not match the chip., with an option to go to setup or ignore. I choose ignore and it went to safemode. If choose setup, I can't find anything torectify the mismatched message. What can I do to get the
machine to boot to windows other then lowering the buss speed.
Thank You,
