What do you think? I have amd 233 mhz chips one 3.3 and the other 3.2v, which makes no sense to me, so I have a problem with one of my 233's, I go buy use AMD k-6 200 and it doesn't work(after setting board up, so I pull that out go to computer show get a AMD k-6 266 chip, well didn't look very closey at voltage markings looked like 3.2v after placing in new mother board with voltage at 3.2 system I noticed the correct voltage was 2.2v reset voltage on board new board started to intitialize then went blank and now nothing happens! Did I burn out the chip??

you betcha. done it myself on accident. found most my issues were 1-impatient and in a hurry, 2-interuptions, 3-one too many beers. LOL

the best way around all this is buy the board and chip together. No mistakes on anything then.

when you build your PC, make sure you get no interuptions, kids are out for a while or in bed, no nagging wife lurking around, try to keep within the 6 beer limit.

Dont forget to not let a playful kitten anywhere near your board either, Those sharp claws are just right for changing dip swithches http://www.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum/smile.gif http://www.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum/smile.gif
