Any suggestions...?
I recently upgraded to an Athlon. Paired with a K7M m/b and TNT2 Ultra card, all my 3D games always lock-up now and requires a cold reboot.
My system spec:
Athlon 500
Asus K7M m/b
128MB PC100 Apacer ram
Hercules TNT2 Ultra card (tried with drivers v2.08 and ref v3.68)
SBLive Value (with LiveWare 3.0 drivers)
300W power supply
Thanx.

Well, only thing I can say is that I havent had any luck with those stupid TNT2 cards ever...good brand name or bad brand name they always lock up in games for me...my suggestion, return the card and get a Voodoo 3, the one i got is the 3000 model made by STB and it runs great..when my directx is not version 7...version 6 is much better, less lockups

check your sb live if it is the problem.
Had a customer bring back his system with random lockups from games, internet, music, etc. He had an asus k7m with onboard audio (disabled), k7 700, sb live value with liveware 3.0, Asus v3800 tnt2 32 mb agp videocard, etc.
Turned out it was the live. Even though onboard sound was disabled, it was causing some unknown conflicts. Changed the k7m with a giagbyte 7ix and no more problems. Reactivated onboard sound with k7m and resold it. No problems with it since either.
This might not solve your problem, but try it out.

Thanx Wurny. You are right about the compatability problem Nvidia based products have. I have now switched to a voodoo3 3000 v/c and all is fine. Every game and benchmark works fast!
Thanx also to replier for your response. In this case, my k7m does not have onboard sound. I did try the system without the sblive and only the tnt2 ultra but it did not make a difference. The fix was to replace the graphics card!
Kind of disappointing because the tnt2 ultra is suppose to be faster than the voodoo3 3000. Oh well.
I might just have to wait for the new drivers from Nvidia or something.
Thanx again.

I also have the same problem... I have a AMD K7 700, with a K7 pro mb (amd 756 chip set). I have a Annihilator pro (gefore 256) and to get any D3D games to run i had to install AGP miniport 4.61 driver. That worked I can now run the games, but now all games lock up, anywhere from 30 secs to 3 mins. I tryied going down to 1 x and even disabling agp and nothing so far as helped... Any other ideassss
Thanks

Athlon probs are common, because the AMD chipset (the 750) has a design flow, which makes it unsuitable for use with heavy video adapters.
We are currently testing a Biostar K7 board with Via KX133 chipset, and all probs we encountered before haven't showed up until now... We're testing further on...
BTW even Messiah works great on our Athlon 600Mhz + GeForce Prophet test system...
