[RESOLVED] installing windows 98 or 2000 on athlon machine

hi i have recently purchased an athlon 650 with a bistar motherboard and can not get windows 98 or 2000 to install on it. windows 98 runs scandisk and then returns the following error.
user.exe could not be loaded.

can anyone help. I have 128mb ram, a pci64 and a creative tnt2 ultra. The hard drive is an ibm 20.3gb udma66

Did you format the hard drive first with the utility disk the hardrive came with. At the begining it ask which operating system are you going to use win 95a,win 95b,win 98 and so on. Start from the begining and let me know trout@redconnect.net

Win and even 2000 works great on a Biostar mainboard. What you need is : 1)a decend 300watt power supply, 2)good memory

besides this... don't go for the cheapest parts in town for the other things like video..

If you do that.. everything works fine...
