I have resolved a conflict on my Ide2 channel which holds my cd rom and burner, but now I cannot get the cd roms to work they are visible in control panel, but the will not operate

Swapped both CD/CDRW positions on cable and all problems are went away. I assume,what some CD/CDRW needs to be installed as slave or master only.
