USB DEVICE NOT INSTALLED

every time i boot up my pc i get a window prompt stating that USB Device has not been installed on my computer.

Windows then looks for one but cannot find it.

This is causing problems with my brand new mustek Scnamagic Scanner, as it will not work, i suspect because of this.

any hints ?

Need to know what operating system you are using... ie. Windows 95 A or B version, Windows 98???

also need to know if your scanned is a USB scanner?? If it is, it won't work until the USB port is installed.

1) USB ports are not supported in Windows 95 A version - you will need a windows upgrage.

2) Windows 95 B version - USB support need to be installed with a program either on the cd that came with your system or from the Windows 95 CD located in the folder labeled "Others".

3) Windows 98 will install USB support without prompting. If you are running Windows 98 then their is a different problem in your system which will have to be identified.
