I HAve an athlon 500 and was running Win98 SE. I purchased a Microsoft Intellimouse (with Intellieye) and plugged it into my USB port...my machine would boot up, work for a while, then hang. So i hunted and found the USB patch for SE. Still, the same problem ccured. I downgraded to Win98 (no SE) with hopes of correcting this problem. Now my computer will boot up and run for a longer period of time, but will still hang, usually after 20 min. As of today i have resorter to using the PS/2 adapter.

I would check your power supply on this. I have 7XI & AMD 750, with MS Mouse and Keyboard, I was having same type of problems, till I found out that new PS I bought was bad send it back got a new and everything works fine now.(knock on wood http://www.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum/smile.gif

I guess thats possible. Odd tho it was a brand new supply when i got this board... and to have it only affecting USB, and then more so in SE than 98... odd
