MacGyver September 24th, 2001, 03:32 PM BIOS password would work, as long as the kids aren't smart enough to open the case, find the "clear password" jumper, and put it back together again. Even then, mom would know since the password would be erased. Just make sure you set both the System and Supervisor passwords. Trying to protect the contents of a Win9x/ME computer through use of software is futile at best. Even the most feeble of hackers can bypass most Win9x/ME security. If she's using Windows 2000 or NT, then the security is much more robust and the kids (or anybody else for that matter) aren't likely to bypass it. ------------------ http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/avatars/custom/7630.jpg I help others in the name of my Lord, Jesus Christ. This works on Win9x (WinME?) machines. How about a locked room? The simplest solution may be to restrict physical access to the PC in some way. ------------------ http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum1/noncgi/avatars/custom/22533.jpg "Expect the unexpected" ------------------ windrivers.com
