I do a lot of skinning and meshing for the sims game, and I installed this wonderful program on my pc to help me out.
Only problem is i'm lost, this program has way to many features...
well i used good old ms paint before, so i'm having trouble adjusting..
is there any online guides aimed for beginers?
or is there any special tips from someone who uses this program?
Any help at all would be appreciated
Thanx,
SlyVenom

PhotoShop is a very powerful graphics and digital image editing tool. I took an entire class on it back around 1992 as part of my graphic arts certification. So to be able to write how to use it in a post probably wouldn't work. But I would start out by looking at some tutorials online and trying them out. Here's a good site for that: http://www.deepspaceweb.com/. And there's many others too. Then if you think you're really interested, then pick up a book. I'm running PS6 also, but before that, when 5.5 came out, I spent about 60 bucks on a PS5 book because before that, I only knew PS3. Anyway, that's just my 2 cents. Good luck to you with learning it. Once you start learning it, you'll find it fun and you'll love using it.

I think a book is the best way to go, and you can complement it by keeping up to speed by visiting web sites.
I'm still trying to figure out Photoshop 5.5 with 2 books and graphic design training under my belt!

Agree with all the earlier comments...
Secondary to working for a paycheck, I own a digital graphics firm. We've used almost all the graphics programs out there. Photoshop is the best, most technical, and most challenging. My only complaint [besides cost, ouch!] is that "tool use" seems to be purposely counter-intuitive. [Maybe I'm a cynic, but could it be that they make it that way so that they can offer "certifications?"]
We did a comparative analysis of different apps., and surprisingly enough, PhotoImpact 6.0 was the hands down winner amongst the technicians! 90 bucks, and gets used much more often.
Now, if you've paid the big bucks for Photoshop, and want to stick with it, that's good, too. For newer artists, we give them a copy of IDG books "Photoshop 6 Bible for windows" by Deke MacClelland. I consider it essential for entry level learning, and now, after years of using Photoshop, I still find myself going back to his books!
