Hi!
I'm running a pretty freshly installed W2k SP2. Sometimes the machine starts to lock up for a short while. It helps to reboot. In the event log following appears (one event for every lockup):
The device, \Device\Scsi\ultra661, did not respond within the timeout period.
According to MS support db it is probably a hardware problem. But it ALWAYS helps to reboot. I feel that there is some kind of driver that can be the menace. I looked for updated driver for Promise Ultra66 Ide controller without luck.
Any suggestions?
HW:
MSI BX Master (latest firmware)
IBM 60 GXP harddrive
PIII 700
128 mb Corsair PC133 CAS2
ATI Radeon 64 DDR
SB Live
Acer CD-Rom
ATA-100 compatible mobile HDD rack
Antec 300 W PSU
Antec Case (1030-SX I think)
Thanks!
Best regards:
