Ok, heres the deal...

I'm installing Netware 4.11 on this computer, which doesnt have a second IDE port on it. Instead, the CD-Rom is hooked to the SB16 card that is in it. I can't add a cdrom to the Master IDE channel, as it doesnt boot up then.

I've installed the Sony 1.72 Drivers, the Creative 2x and under Drivers, the Creative 4x and up drivers, and still no avail. I cant copy the cd to the hard drive, as they are like, 500 megs each. Any help with this problem would be appreciated.

Please email all replies to apayne@netsystems1.com

Thanks!

The Sony CDU33A CDROM drive is a 2x propritory drive with 34 pin connection. If you try connecting this to the IDE channel the computer will not boot, like you said. Have you tried an IDE CDROM Drive(40pin connection) as a slave, this should work. Otherwise you need to find the setup program for the sound card that includes the CDROM setup inorder to use the drive. The SB16 stand alone sound drivers will not initiate the CDROM controller functions.
