I am setting up a system using the Asus P5A motherboard and AMD K6-2 500Mhz, running Windows98. I used a Windows98 startup disk to install the OS. Seemed to work fine. But once software was installed and rebooted, Windows98 did not see the drive at all. The bios seems to see it fine, but Windows98 doesn't see any CDrom of any kind on the system. Anyone have any ideas?

I have come across similar probs before.
Try disableing the udma for the cd and it should work.

I use the via chipset and they have a new little prog that can enable or diable the diferent modes on your drives.

What kind of drive is it? 98 usually sees CDROMs with no problem. Try booting into Safe Mode and see if the drive is in device man. If it is, remove it and reboot.
