Ok, I'm fairly familiar with the Netware operating system, that is, I can do most things on it. I cannot however figure out how to get the Novell Internet Connection Service, or whatever its called. I've got 2 NICs in my server, an onboard compaq nic (named CPQNF3_1, driver CPQNF3) and an Intel NIC (named CBL_BOARD, driver CE100B) I cant get the DHCPCLNT to load. I put in DHCPCLNT NAME=CBL_BOARD, and it says that logical board name not found... What am I missing here? I have to get a DHCP address from my cable modem, from my ISP, the the NEAT's NICE only wants a static IP.

Any help here would be appreciated... I was up till 4am trying to figure this out...

I've already looked at:

I don't pretend to be an expert in Novell, I was thrust into my current position and had to learn about Netware as I went. Unfortunately my guru experience ends at v4.11 as that is the server we have now. We are -supposed- to be running 5.x, but we haven't upgraded it yet.

What version are you running?

So if you are running 5.x, I am not going to be very helpful, but here is what I know: On our server in the autoexec.ncf, we have LOAD DHCPSRVR and LOAD DHCPCFG. We have no mention of DHCPCLNT so I have a suspicion that the two NOS's are entirely different in this department. When I have to configure our network with respect to the Internet, I use INETCFG from the server console. This much I know from setting up individual workstations with static IP's in case they want to do videoconferencing or something else that requires a static IP. Also I was not aware that you could use the bind command in that manner, maybe you should check the syntax for that command.

If you're running 5.x, maybe somebody like PCShark who knows more about Novell 5 than I could help you out.
