The other NT? More stable and secure? Than NT...maybe when NT first came out but I hate to tell you brotha but NT 5(aka Windows 2000) is much more stable and secure than NetWare. Thus the reason everyone is migrating from(not to) Novell.

Could you please back up your statement with some cold hard facts, please? I'd take Novell over NT whatever anyday!

So for my "exhibit A" I present this URL: http://www.attrition.org/mirror/attrition/os.html

Please note that on this page (when I last looked at it), NT web servers were hacked 5776 times for website defacements. Even Linux isn't invincible, several different Linux incarnations hacked thousands of times. Now look waaaay at the bottom of the list and lookie there! Novell only hacked 4 times for website defacements! And I bet you those 4 servers weren't even configured properly! BSD isn't too bad, either.

If you have any evidence that can beat that, I'd sure like to see it!

May I ask where you got your information? Being both MCSE & CNE I would prefer working with Novell any day!

First off, let me say I have not really used Novell so I can't say anything good or bad about it, neither am I posting anything good or bad about it here, but, looking at the statistics, they do say something, but not much. How can you say look at how many NT server hosted sites were hacked compared to Novell hosted sites when there is no total number of sites per OS to compare it to? Thats like saying car X is the most dangerous car on the road because it is involved in so many car accidents so don't buy it but no one states how many X's are on the road. Again, I'm not saying anything good or bad about Novell, just about the statistics.

Well thirdfey aka "underpaid" you have a valid point there. But consider this: is the worldwide ratio of NT webservers to Novell really 5776:4? Probably not. And do you think that only 0.04% of all the webservers out there are Novell? Not likely IMO.

So either the hackers are targeting NT servers because they hate MS, or there are really only 4 Novell web servers out there for every 12531 other types.

I would have to discount the MS haters theory, because there are plenty of Linux and BSD incarnations that were hacked, too.

Anyway, I have yet to find any evidence, circumstantial/statistical or not, that speaks louder than this one.

true, true, I can't deny the fact that the ratio is quiet a bit outlandish and could not be possible. I guess it was just those law classes i took coming out in the middle of the night to say inconclusive evidence :D
