Okay, on one of the machines at my job is running win98, with a novell client 3.1.0. Now I downloaded the mapped shutdown drivers and it still doesnt work. I've checked the registry for the "fast reboot" and the value was set at "0". Now should I just update the client to 3.3.0. When I log out of novell and just start the computer normally, the computer shuts down properly, but when I'm logged into Novell, Win98 does not shutdown properly, it just hands at the "preparing to shutdown" screen. Is there fix for this problem? I've already looked into Novell site and I couldnt find anything. Maybe I was looking in a wrong section or something for the solution?

thanks all,

Did you see this: http://support.novell.com/cgi-bin/search/searchtid.cgi?/10022677.htm

Also try starting in Safe Mode w/ Network support and see if you can shutdown in that cirucumstance. It may be some other piece of software conflicting....
