Yeah, this workstation that I'm working on has the same login screen name even though you reset the computer, it should adjust to the last person that logged on. What happened? I've unistall the client (in this case it's 3.3 on a win95 machine) and when i install it, it still keeps the same login even if you clear it off and input a different login user. Anyway aroun this?

thanks all,

Ya, my company just did a complete upgrade of all the clients to v3.3 and we had this problem quite a bit. This solution was provided by our head tech:

To get rid of the persistent login name, do the following:

- Open up the Network properties (right-click Network Neighborhood, click Properties)
- Highlight "Novell NetWare Client", click Properties
- Click on the "Location Profiles" tab
- Highlight the "Default" profile, click Properties
- Ensure that Service is set to "Login Service", then click Properties
- Check "Save profile on exit"
- Click OK (to close Login Service properties)
- Click OK (to close Default profile properties)
- Click OK (to close Novell NetWare Client properties)
- Click OK (to close Network properties)

That's it. Windows will probably do a driver refresh at this point. The next time you boot, the name you enter will stick for the next reboot.
If that doesn't work, there are PLENTY of other documents available at Novell's support site: http://www.novell.com/search/support/kb_index.html - one of them is bound to have the solution you are looking for.

I'm goning to backup MacGyver on this. Try the Novell support pages. Theres heaps to know and they have it all. A really good knowlege base. If you are administering a Novell network, you should jump into the mailing lists. They saved my *** several times.
