Setting up server for WAN

Hi guys! I am planning to set-up our server for WAN. I have to admit this is my first time to do this. So i need your expert advice. What are the guidelines for setting up WAN or could you give me any reference materials that I could use to help me set-up our server for WAN.

I'm using a NOVELL 4.11 server and installed in IBM PC Server 310.

As of now nothing. I haven't installed it yet. But I am planning to install it.
