Tha_gr81 September 30th, 2000, 10:46 AM I would like to know what burner is good to get right now and how much in canadian money thanks. Pigmy October 2nd, 2000, 09:47 PM It all depends on you & the reason you want one.I have a Mitsumi CR-4804TE 4*4*24 & paid $280 Canadian + gst only.$330 total & I like it very much. format c: October 7th, 2000, 12:05 AM I have an HP 7100 i that I bought used off of a kid, it is a bit slow but not too bad for the price, I just need better software I also saw an LG cdrw going for about 250 Can. , I like the LG cd rom drives since they work good , I have 2 cd roms by LG Take a look at HPS product line and LGs and if you have the money I here that Plextor is a good make ------------------ Format c:( I'm givin er all she's got cap'in !!! ) Darren Wilson October 7th, 2000, 05:34 AM Plextor Burnproof. May be expensive but you will save the money in the long run by not wasting any discs due to buffer under runs. Apparently Creative have a drive out with Burnproof as well, but I have always swore by Plextors for reliability. ------------------ why are our jobs so interesting?????? Chonn3 October 19th, 2000, 10:37 PM Definitely Plextor... AlienDyne October 20th, 2000, 02:01 AM Plextor Burnproof 12x10x32x is the best right now and Plextor is the best of all times. ------------------ "Matter is passive. Its the best one I have ever used. AlienDyne November 1st, 2000, 02:45 AM Hey Spider. How are you doing? Glad we agree on something! http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum/biggrin.gif ------------------ "Matter is passive. In spite of its power, it can't be controlled without the human mind." Sokrates My Hardware Info, Hardware Media and Computer History page (http://www.geocities.com/alienhardware) u8drtsox November 2nd, 2000, 12:55 PM I would have to agree with the masses and say that the Plextor drives are by far the best but if your a tight *** like me the HP burners are just as good. After using them for a while I found that creating and image first and then creating the cd from the image I don't have as many coasters http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum/biggrin.gif lying around. As a matter of fact I haven't had a bad burn on a CD yet since I have done it this way http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum/wink.gif. I usualy save the image for items like OS's so if someone needs the cab files for something I can run a quick burn without looking for the cd. Of course this also requires alot of HD Space considering that the image is as large as the cd you copied. Hope the info helps...... ------------------ Sometimes I fill my tub up with milk and blow bubbles windrivers.com
