OK I know it barely qualifies as a computer, my sister bought my niece a refurbished Astro a 1½ ago, before her sophmore year in college and w/out my knowledge, actually it's not been a bad machine. Slow (Celery 400) but for the work she was doing on it (word, excel an occasional game) not bad. I put on a USB NIC Card and Sprintbroadband rocks along pretty well. The question that was posed to me was it possible to upgrade the memory to 128 meg from the 64? My immediate response was no. I've since heard from an ex co-worker that it may be possible, but have found no documentation supporting this. As I've never cracked the thing opened I do not know if the memory is a permanent resident of the mobo or removable. I've told my niece to live with a short while longer (it still meets her immediate needs), let me put together a system for her (we live 500 hundred miles apart), or order one from Local Shop/Dell/Gateway.
Anyway has anyone heard of upgrading these machines? Thank you in advance <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
