Can anyone help with a problem I have with my Laptop under Win2K. The two PCMCIA slots are detected correctly (O2Micro OZ6833), have resources allocated and are shown as working correctly. Trouble is the card I insert is not detected at all, either automatically or by Add/Remove Hardware. The card works fine on another Laptop running 2K. The laptop also worked great with NT, card installed etc. The card is a Cheetah Ethercard EN2228. I have the latest drivers.

What notebook is it? Does the same symptom occur with other cards?

I had a laptop which had a hard time with PC cards in Win2k..this was the resolution..it was for a compaq noteboook..

--------
Go to BIOS and search for built in device, then do:

Onboard sound ( Enable)
Soundblaster (Disable)

press F10 and confirm, dont worry your sound ssystem still work but the soundblaster comp (that cause the problem) is disabled.

Normally the problem must be solved , if still not try to update the sound driver to VIA PCI Sound Device insteat of PCI Sound Device in WIN2K.

see if that works ;) i know the fix sounds totally unrelated to PC card slot but it worked for me.

Good luck ;)
