What external USB CDRW to get?

I am looking to buy a CDRW in the near future. I am leaning towards an external USB so I can use it on multiple PCs. Any suggestions on brand and model? Any suggestions on software? I will mostly be using it for backups, utilites CDs, photo storage and audio CDs.
