Greetings all-
I have a Thinkpad 760ED. It has a fresh re-install of Windows 95 on it. My problem is this: The system will only start in safe mode. When I try to start it in normal mode, it goes to the blue clouds screen, clicks, and locks up.

I am having a terrible time with the drivers for this machine. The sound drivers are especially bad. I am trying to run the install disk (In safe mode) but it keeps telling me that something using the sound drivers is already running. It does this after a complete un-install of the sound drivers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Al

Have you tried taking out all of the junk in the run and run services keys in the registry? Edit the run key in system.ini to read run= and load=?
Then go to the enum key in hklm and delete it and reboot. Do all of the above in safe mode. You may want to do a clean install of win 98. You might have less problems. IBM requires the bios to be updated to do this if you are running a partition bigger than 2 gb. I would also go to the IBM site and download all of the newest drivers for the laptop.
