Hey All
Have a little matter that I would like to know...My quesions are...Is it possible to make the speed of a CD Rom great than it suppose to be(say changing a 32x to a 40x)?
And is so how is it done?
Thanks to whomever offer the knowledge.

umm dude, thats kinda like overclocking. but the dif between this and OC is that this cant be done. its not possible. also whenever you see the 32X on a cd drive it almost never actually reaches that speed. the best you can hope for out of a 32x at a constant read is about 17X. the only time that it reaches 32X is when the laser is at the outside of the disk and even then it has to slow down the motor to reduce vibration. in answer to your question, no its not possible (but you could try upping the motor speed if your really stuck on this, how i dont know)
