Posting also in Tech-Tech. Took a Thinkpad in on trade-in. Finish coming off where metal zipper scratched it. Managed to strip all of oem finish down to metal film bonded to plastic. Tried priming, and painting with flat black paint. Looks close, but doesn't have proper tactile properties. Oem finish has "rubber feel" . going to be hard to sell the unit in current condition.
