I am having problems with my CD Creator 4. I double click to open and an error message comes up saying "...engine initialization failed.." I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling but the message still appears. Can someone please help!
Thanks

Try removing it on Safe Mode, boot normally and reinstall it. That's what I would do.

Then see what happens.

Thankyou for your replies. I have tried deleting it in safe mode and reinstalling it but that did not work. I also tried to click on that but nothing came up. The problem is still there.

To get that link to work you need to copy and paste both lines into the address bar of your browser. That link displays the following information:

An "Engine Initialization" error indicates that the Easy CD Creator "engine" could not be started. This error may occur when components of Easy CD Creator are not properly installed. To resolve this error reboot and install Easy CD Creator a second time (i.e., over the existing installation).

If the error persists, then uninstall Easy CD Creator completely and re-install Microsoft Internet Explorer 5 from the Easy CD Creator Installation CD. The IE 5 installer can be found in the "\Disk1\IE5\Enu" directory. After the installation of IE 5 is complete, then reboot and install Easy CD Creator.

Prior to installing you should verify that the only program running when you attempt to install and / or use Easy CD Creator is "Explorer" itself. This can be accomplished in Windows 95 and 98 through Microsoft's "Close Program" window:

1. Close all programs that appear in your Task Bar

2.Close all programs that appear as icons in your System Tray (usually found in the lower right hand corner of your screen)

When no programs appear in your Task Bar, press [CTRL]+[ALT]+[DEL] together to bring up the Windows "Task Manager" (or "Close Program" window) and verify that only "Explorer" is running. If there are any other tasks in the list, then highlight each task one at a time and click the "End Task" button. Each time you end a task the "Close Program" window will disappear and you'll need to press [CTRL]+[ALT]+[DEL] together to bring it up again.
Some tasks may not respond immediately - you'll need to wait until they give you the message "Program not responding" at which time you should click on the "End Task" button.
