How can u get a BSOD from a DOS prompt?????

Dos prompt This thing is so unstable When you Put the floppy in click A drive boom BSOD or system shuts down! I have to go to one of my other computers! And I'll try again I just thought if I swaped HHD's
I got like 6 new maxtors here at home pulled the Western Digital and tossed it, I would be quicker.
Forgot last time I got to a dos prompt and started Fdisk i got a error of file missing.

I would recomend going with a bigfoot drive, it should solve all of your problems.

as a windowsME user who has removed it before.

use a millenium bootdisk to boot to pure DOS and you know what to do after that, I am sure.

use a win98 start-up disk i use them anyway all the time even when I do a Millenium install because they do the dos stuff, never had any problem so far...

Agreed, and Fdisk should never be run from a DOS shell within Windows....

Why cant you install win2k?
To install win2k instead of another operating system on my systems i just put the win2k cd in, boot off it and then let setup format the drive for me.

I dunno iof you tried that or not, let us know.

If you still can't get the os Off the WD drive use the Data Lifeguard tools and use the program to Write Zeros to the hard drive. That will bring the drive to it's straight from the factory smelling like a new car condition. basically you are doing a low level format....

A Bigfoot? Are you insane man? He's trying to solve a hdd problem, not create new ones!
