I am running Windows ME and was not acting right checked system found it is running in ms compatibility mode on both hard drives c and D checked hd controller ok checked for other yellow marks have one on USB hub try to udate driver no luck same on Joy stick. do I need to reload me or what Thanks for any help!!

We need a little more information, but it sounds like winme did not set up the right hard disk controller for your motherboard. What kind of system do you have? what kind of motherboard and chipset in particular?

some bootsector viruses will cause this behaviour. run a scan on your system

i had this problem many moons ago, i got it sorted by installing the latest bus master IDE controller drivers for my mobo.

Thanks all This is the best place I have found for the right answers, I got my problem fixed and it was the drivers for my raid controller I reloaded and it fixed the problem I guess windows me gets screwed up when it loads and this plug and play can really be a problem Thanks again all
