rename it as a .txt edit it in notpad and rename it to .sys

See if that works

You cannot change congig.sys that is stored in the root directory. It has to be there but the actual configuration of the system is made from the registry. Check those under the key DOSOptions. I do not know what you wanted to change in config.sys but chances are you would not be able to change much.

Good luck

If msconfig or sysedit are still avaliable, you could try running those

sysedit is not part of the package as far as I can tell from my end. msconfig helps setting the environment that you can set in autoexec.bat, system.ini and win.ini, but config.sys? ! . .

By the way if you could tell me how to create a ramdrive on me.....!

While I can't speak for WinME, in Win98 there is a config.sys tab in MSConfig, in fact it is the second tab and from there you can add entries.
/\/\/\
the first thing I would check is if the RAMDRIVE.SYS is in the windows directory or the command folder, and then add the entry using msconfig, assuming that that tab is there.

I know about that. ME requires config.sys to reside on the root directory. It must have a length 0 b. All the configurations are set in the registry. It requires a hex script that I don't know where to find it. ME does not have real mode DOS. It is an emulation. I did not have 98, I grew from 95 to ME. There is no config.sys in msconfig in ME.

I just found this MS KB Article:

Article ID: Q278620 (http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q278/6/20.ASP?LN=EN-US&SD=gn&FR=0&qry=ramdrive&rnk=3&src=DHCS_MSPSS_gn_SRCH&SPR=WINME)

Basicly, there is no hope for a ramdrive,

I guess this is another reason for me to stay away from WinME
