I'm installing a Backpack CD-Rewriter external on Win2000. It's the Triple-play model (PCMCIA, USB or parallel port).

I'm currently using the USB port but am experiencing problems with refreshing contents and burn initializations (Easy CD Creator 4.02).

I would like your recommendations on whether to use the USB or parallel port. Which is faster in reality and what would you use?

USB is faster, but if PCMCIA is possible use that...

although I never liked USB burners.

Problem seems to have gone away... For now.

I guessed that USB would be faster, but I think I may have to go with the parallel port to keep it stable.

Thanks for you opinion, JungleMan!

Sometimes the stability is more important that the speed as with dialup internet connections.
