I have heard of problems like this on windows 98. I belive their were being caused by either mouse driver or video driver. I think it was video driver. Try using a different card.

Have installed the latest patch from Microsoft regarding the ATI video but to no avail, still having the same problem. http://forums.windrivers.com/cgi-bin/forum/smilies/cwm3.gif

This is for ATI cards on Windows 95/98 and/or IE 5.5. Not sure if this work with ME though.

Hey thanks Danrak, I tried the link that you suggested and did the changes that Microsoft recommended. Things seem to be much more stable.
Thanks again.

A final note to this thread for refrence. AS well as the above mentioned fixed for the problem I was experiencing there was an additional issue. The problem had returned shortly after my last post and was finally traced to a codec file I had loaded for Media Player. I don't have the name handy at the moment but will post it as soon as I find it again. But after removing this codec all net functionality has returned to normal, can once again spend hours on the net. (think I need to get a life?). Again thank you for all who replied and I will post the codec name as soon as I find it in my files.
