My computer was acting funny recently, and I think I found the source. In my startup folder there were 3 .vbs files (_1.vbs, Net-Enh.vbs, and network.vbs) and two hidden .exe files (mscfg.exe and network.exe). As if that wasn't suspicious enough, the commands within these files mostly have to do with mapping network drives and then copying its self. And one of the vbs files says :
"'netlog.worm.remover.optimized.universal.cable_use rs
'I hate virus wars, but it has to be done."
inside it. Anyway, I moved these files as fast as i could, and ditto with a file called "netwk.log" it made in my root directory, which had 5.5mb worth of subnet mask addresses recorded in it. the question is, what do i do now? should i install an antivirus program and sweep now, or is it too late?

What you need to do is go here (http://security2.norton.com/us/intro.asp?venid=sym&langid=us)and run the online virus check. It won't fix them but it will tell you what is infected and you can get directions or repair tools from here. (http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/index.html)Network.vbs is really easy to remove, you did the right thing by getting rid of those files at first. Follow up with the online check, remove any nasties THEN get Norton AV and load it on the system.

Good luck!
