After upgrading to WinXP (clean install), I am seeing some issues with my plextor PX-40TS SCSI CDrom drive. Namely, the DAE is very sub-par.
The same system had been running WinME, with an Adaptec ASPI layer (4.60-1021), and Audiograbber was able to do DAE at more than 20x on this drive.
Now with WinXP, the most I can get is 9x with the same drive. I am using Adaptec's ASPI layer on WinXP as well.
In addition, it looks like I can't get digital playback to work on this drive. I have enabled it in device manager, but Windows Media Player won't play the disc. If I force analog mode, it will play. I have a PX-1210S which does digital playback fine, but is also poor with DAE.
Anyone have any insight as to what the problem might be? Essensially the only difference between both systems was the OS. All the software I am using is the same.
Thanks for your help!
