WOW.... this virus basically gang rapes the computer and leaves it bleeding in a corner. got a machine with this one on it the other day. the removal instructions are like 5 pages long. After following nortons removal instructions, the machine would no longer recognise explorer.exe as a valid win32 app. in safe mode, it would ask if you are sure you want to run a dos app as it may cause problems. did a reinstall over top (win95b) and the thing is still cryin (but not about explorer any more). I'm thinkin its time for a format reinstall. Anyone else have any fun with this virus or run into any similar problems?

I had my fun with MTX and was able to clean the drive of it. I used the nortons removal instructions but I used f-prot to clean the infected files. After going through all the steps, I also ran the MTX fix that is on nortons site. If you are still having problems after extracting the files from the cabs to replace the MTX corrupted files, you will probably be forced to format. Well good luck.

That thing is a nasty b!tch. There are some nasty variants out there, can really screw things up. Funny how the original was still rated Low in danger the last time I checked on the Symantec site
